Enclosure Testing Services

From windows to roofs, one source for enclosure testing

Window & Fenestration

A single source for fenestration testing, from new products to field installations

Windows and curtain wall are where enclosures most often leak air and water, and the failure usually traces back to how the assembly was tested before it went in. G&W provides fenestration testing across new products, pre-construction, mock-ups, and field installations, so performance is confirmed at each stage rather than assumed. We test to recognized AAMA and ASTM methods and report results clearly enough to act on.

TEST STANDARDS

Air & Weather Barrier Testing

Verifying the barrier is continuous, from mock-up through field install

Air and weather barriers only work if they are continuous, and continuity is hard to hold once the system moves from the detail drawing to the field. G&W validates barrier installations from pre-construction and mock-ups through field verification, checking the points where continuity typically breaks down. We identify problems while they are still correctable, before the wall is closed up.

Electronic Leak Detection

A modern way to confirm waterproofing before it is covered

Waterproofing failures are expensive because they are usually found long after the membrane is buried under an overburden or finish. Electronic leak detection locates breaches while repairs are still simple, on plaza decks, balconies, roof decks, and terraces. G&W performs testing to ASTM D7877 and D8231 as a DETEC-certified scanning firm, and provides feedback on site so issues can be repaired immediately.

TEST STANDARDS

Roof Testing

Confirming the roof is sound before and after it goes into service

A roof can fail in ways that are invisible from the surface, from trapped moisture to inadequate uplift resistance. G&W tests roofing systems on plaza decks, balconies, roof decks, and terraces using methods matched to what the roof needs to prove. Where electronic leak detection applies, we perform it to ASTM D7877 and D8231 as one part of a fuller roof evaluation.
