Cape Care for Women: St. Francis Medical Campus

Water was coming through the north elevation at the Cape Care for Women building on the St. Francis Medical Campus, and the contractor needed to know whether the windows, the wall behind them, or the transition at the lower entrance roof was the source. A unit had already been pulled to expose as-built conditions.

G&W spent two consecutive days on site with a two-person team, testing windows to AAMA 501.2 where access allowed and running fifteen-minute water cascades at upper areas of concern along with sill dam testing. Removal of additional units was observed directly. Upper elevations out of reach were surveyed by UAV under an FAA Part 107 pilot, working within airspace limits near an active medivac facility. Findings, probable causes, and remediation options were delivered in a written report.
