A new four-story corporate headquarters and branch bank clad entirely in unitized curtainwall puts the entire exterior wall performance on a single system, which raises the stakes on how well that system is fabricated and installed. Getting fenestration right on a fully glazed building means catching problems in the shop and at the wall, not after the enclosure is closed in.
G&W’s scope started in the fabrication facility, with quality observation visits during glazing and fabrication and a project quality checklist covering sealant, gasket, and glazing practices. Field work followed with four testing mobilizations on the installed system, conducting AAMA 502 field testing at agreed pressures per ASTM E783 for air infiltration and ASTM E1105 Procedure A for water penetration. Shop drawing review and additional site observations confirmed installed conditions against the construction documents through completion.
