MidAmerica St. Louis Airport Terminal Expansion

The terminal expansion at MidAmerica St. Louis Airport added roughly 41,000 square feet across two stories and a below-grade level. Glazed aluminum windows and curtainwall formed much of the exterior, and on a building like this, a glazing system that lets in air or water becomes a problem that shows up during operation, when it is far harder to reach and fix.

Testing followed specification section 084413. The curtainwall was checked first at an on-site mock-up, then again on the installed system in the field. Both rounds ran to AAMA 503, using air infiltration and spray water tests under pressure differential. Field testing covered three mobilizations at two tests each, with a written report after every round.
