Preston M. Green Hall expanded Washington University’s engineering research capacity with a four-story, 84,000 SF facility for the Department of Electrical & Systems Engineering, I-CARES, and Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering. Inside are more than 30 offices and conference rooms, dry and wet labs, three large classrooms, and roughly 40,000 SF of shell space reserved for future lab fit-outs, with the building connecting to Brauer Hall on three levels of its west façade.
G&W provided energy modeling services for the project under the general contractor, giving the design team the performance data to weigh system and envelope decisions against the university’s energy goals. The completed building earned LEED Gold certification
