Replacing the original glass block windows on an existing university art and design building called for a coordinated approach to envelope performance, not just material substitution. The SIUE Art & Design East renovation in Edwardsville combined new windows, metal panels, and limestone in a system designed to match the recently completed Art & Design West facility on the same campus.

G&W delivered Building Enclosure Commissioning services for the project architect. Scope spanned design-phase review of construction documents, submittal and shop drawing evaluation, progress meetings with installing trades, periodic site observations during installation of critical envelope components, and witnessing of specified on-site performance testing. A deficiency tracking log captured findings through project completion.
