McConnell AFB Building 57

Air barrier work on a secured military installation carries verification demands that go beyond a typical commercial project, and the barrier itself only earns confidence once its bond to the substrate is measured rather than assumed. On a building where the enclosure was already installed, testing while the assembly remained accessible was the way to confirm the work held.

G&W conducted pull-off adhesion testing on the installed air barrier across six locations during a single site visit, measuring bond strength of the barrier materials to their substrates per ASTM D4541 and ABAA T002. A written report documented test locations, observed conditions, and results. Work was coordinated around base access and escort requirements to keep the single mobilization efficient.
