This renovation returned both legs of the East Wing main level at a Town and Country rehabilitation facility to their original semi-private room layout. The building stayed occupied during the work, so the design started from field verification of existing conditions and kept life safety and resident systems running through the change. Existing MEP drawings and a discipline-by-discipline site survey set the starting point.
The bulk of the electrical work was relocation and replacement: a new fire alarm control panel and new electrical distribution panels consolidated to one location in the renovation area, plus relocation of the generator annunciator and door monitoring panels. G&W extended the existing nurse call and fire alarm systems into the renovated space and provided a fire protection performance specification, a low-voltage plan, and egress-path lighting calculations as part of the construction documents.
