Crown Center Senior Living

Crown Center’s redevelopment added two new structures to an occupied senior living campus in University City. Phase 1 is a four-story, 52-unit apartment building of about 41,500 SF over a single-story, 28-space parking garage, with one- and two-bedroom units. The Link, a two-story, 19,000 SF connector between the new building and the existing Weinberg building, holds the shared program: activities room, fitness, community kitchen, craft room, library, offices, and reception. New systems had to tie back into a campus that stayed in use throughout construction

G&W designed the MEPFP systems for both structures, coordinated electrical service with the utility, prepared a fire protection performance specification and a site lighting photometric plan, and produced construction documents in Revit through construction administration. Later phases adjusted the layout for site easements and reworked the corridor mechanical systems for a more efficient configuration.
